Monty was a proud member of the Sweeny High School class of 1980.  It is here where he met the love of his life, Terri Rayburn, and the two were married in 1982.  These two kids started with nothing but love.  As Monty loved to say, ‘We started with nothing and we still have most of it!”

Their two children, Chad Michael and Kevin Lee were raised in a great legacy of love from Monty and Terri that included football, music, concerts, fishing and family gatherings.  Nothing brought Monty more joy that the sound of the little feet of his three grandchildren running to see him.

After high school, Monty worked at Rhone Poulenc and attended college at night to earn his instrumentation degree. He later went to work for Phillips 66 and worked for 21 years and retired as an Instrument Planner. He loved that he was following in his father’s career path.

After his retirement, Monty, filled his time with piano lessons, jam sessions with his brother, Alan, and friends, playing music with his son, and having breakfast with Barney Lowery and the crew at the Bulldog.

He enjoyed making memories with his friends and family.  He loved his time at his place at Chinquapin fishing with his family and especially his cousin, Joe Thompson and his grandson, Austin, from Illinois.  Each year, Monty lovingly traveled with his mother to the Thompson family reunion in Illinois.

Monty knew Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and would boldly speak of it to anyone who was searching.
