Morris Crabtree

Morris James Crabtree, 75 of Brazoria, Texas passed away Friday, February 5, 2016 at Sweeny Hospital. He was born March 2, 1940 in Newlan, Texas to Otho and Mamie Whitten Crabtree. Morris was known to his family and friends as "Cowboy". He was a country boy with a strong work ethic. He considered work a privilege. Cowboy was a true family man that respected his parents, adored his children and grandchildren, had a close bond with his siblings, and loved his nieces and nephews. He was so proud of all his family and was a loyal friend to many. He was in his element working and enjoying ranch life with his partner and love, Bell. He had a dry humor and a big heart...always willing to give a hand and help those in need.

Funeral services will be held 10:00am, Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia with Brother Kenny James and Pastor Rick DuBroc officiating. Burial will follow at Brazoria Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Baker Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Hebel, Trey Lucas, Bill Kubecka, Bill Kirkpatrick, Ronnie Kubecka and G.W. Franzen. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Riley and Ross Crabtree; Dan Guerra, John Isaacs, Billy Mayfield and the Shoppas Farm Supply Family.

He is survived by son, Damon Crabtree and wife, Lesli of Shallowater, Tx; daughter, Carmen Guerra and husband, Dan of Lake City, FL; special friend and partner, Bell Jowell of Brazoria, grandchildren, Riley and Ross Crabtree and Taylor and Carissa Hicks; brothers, Clifford Crabtree and wife, Jimmy of Muleshoe; along with Ronnie Crabtree and wife, Cathy of San Antonio; sisters, Joyce Shoup and husband, Johnny of Oklahoma; Mary Taylor and husband, Jim of San Antonio and Shalon Tillotson of Amarillo along with many nieces, nephews, the entire Turk family and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wayne Crabtree and sister, Margie Cooper.
