Nadia Ann-Marie Mendoza, age 12, of Brazoria, Texas the daughter of Augie and April Mendoza, gained her angel wings on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Texas Children's Hospital - West Campus.
Nadia was born on October 18, 2003 in Houston, Texas. Nadia came into the world full of personality. She was always a little comedian who loved to entertain others with productions her twin brother, Aidan, and her would create. Nadia was also gifted with and had a passion for art. She was an amazing artist and her creations proved that whether they be drawings, Claymation, clay sculptors and computer generated art. She was an out of the box thinker who constantly had her loved ones shaking their heads in awe of the things that she could imagine, create and say. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all.
Nadia is survived by her parents Augustine and April Mendoza of Brazoria, Texas; her twin brother Aidan Mendoza of Brazoria, Texas; maternal grandfather Charles Shipman of Brazoria; maternal uncles Randy Shipman and Lisa of Oklahoma; Robert Shipman of Oklahoma; Mark Socha of Brazoria, Texas; paternal grandparents Augustine and Rosie Mendoza of Jones Creek, Texas; paternal aunts and uncles Anita and Edin Garbovic of Houston, Texas; Andrew and Tracy Mendoza of Angleton, Texas; Amanda Mendoza of Houston, Texas; paternal great grandparents Felicita Garza of Athens, Texas. She leaves behind many family members and close friends that loved Nadia with all their hearts. Nadia was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Margaret Shipman.
Pall Bearers are Larry Toutcheque, Justin Struby, Drew Mendoza, Andy McCloud, Enrique Leal, and Kyle Muirheid. The service will be officiated by Don Blaschke and Brother B. F. Flowers.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at Baker's Funeral Home in West Columbia, Texas from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at Brazos Pointe Church in Lake Jackson, Texas on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow service at Brazoria Cemetery in Brazoria, Texas.
Because of Nadia's passion for the arts, in the future the family will be starting a art supply drive for children with brain injuries.
We would like to thank her two neurosurgeons and the nurses that loved Nadia and treated her with such great care.
