Peggy Joyce Chancey, beloved wife and mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dedicated nutritionist, passed away on December 24, 2023 at the age of 77 in Missouri City, Texas. Born on March 16, 1946, in Houston, Texas to her loving parents and many siblings, Peggy lived a life filled with love, compassion, and a deep faith in God.
Peggy had an impressive career as a nutritionist, dedicating 25 years of her life to serving the community through her work at Sweeny ISD. Her role as a nutritionist allowed her to make a positive impact on the lives of countless individuals by promoting healthy eating habits and ensuring that students received proper nutrition. Peggy's dedication to her profession was unwavering and she will be remembered for her commitment to improving the well-being of others.
Outside of her career, Peggy had a profound love for Jesus. She found solace and inspiration in the pages of scripture, allowing her faith to guide her every step. When she wasn't immersed in the Word, Peggy delighted in cooking for her family. Her culinary skills brought joy to those around her as they savored the delicious meals prepared with love and care.
Peggy's memory will forever be cherished by those who survive her. She is survived by her son Roy Brady Chancey and his wife Evelyn of North Carolina and Cindy Gregory and her husband Paul of Brazoria, Texas. Her legacy also lives on through four adoring grandchildren and six great-grandchildren who will carry forward the values she instilled in them.
To honor Peggy's life and mourn her passing, visitation services will be held on Saturday December 30, 2023 at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home 118 W. Texas Ave., Brazoria from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. All friends, family, and acquaintances are welcome to attend and pay their respects to this remarkable woman who touched the lives of so many. Interment to follow at Sweeny Cemetery.
Peggy Joyce Chancey's legacy as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dedicated nutritionist will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and kindness that will continue to inspire generations to come.
