Phyllis had a distinguished career as a librarian at Merced College, Los Banos Campus, where she nurtured many students' love for reading and learning. Her dedication to education and the accessibility of information left a lasting impact on the community she served.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Eloy Garcia, and her devoted parents, Leonard Ramsey and Edna Blakeman. Phyllis is survived by her loving daughter, Dina Murphy (Cuauhtemoc Murphy), and her adored grandchildren: Nicholas Murphy, Jacob Murphy, Claire Murphy, and Alexander Greco. Each of them carries forward the warmth and wisdom she imparted throughout her life.
