"Rory the Warrior"

On August 19, 2016 our Rory decided to go for a swim. As soon as his little body hit the water he jumped into the hands of Jesus. Although his Momma, Daddy, friends and First Responders tried desperately to keep him with us, God's plan for him was much greater.

Rory was a little Stinker who lived his short life without fear. He started walking at 9 months and never quit moving. He had a love for cars, trains, trucks and tractors (especially with trailers) and most of all Firetrucks. Anytime he would hear one pass he would run to see it. The first time Firetruck Dave showed him firetruck videos on his phone, he was HOOKED! After that the most common phrase was "Firetruck on Momma phone?" He would watch the videos of firetrucks just passing by for hours.

Rory the Warrior reached thousands of people around the globe, restored faith in many and got thousands of people to hit their knees in prayer. Then on August 23, 2016 his Momma, Daddy and Pastor Ernie prayed, sang and cried for a Miracle to bring Rory back. In that moment God's greater plan was revealed. We did not get the Miracle we wanted but are thankful for the one God had planned. With the help of Texas Organ Sharing Alliance (T.O.S.A) the miracle brought life and hope to other babies and families through organ donation.

When Rory reached Heaven he was greeted with an abundance of kisses and wonderful food provided by Great Grandparents, Great Uncles and cousins who had gone before him.

Left to hold his memories and his Firetrucks are his Daddy and Mommy, Jason and Sherry-Dawn Sheffield. Siblings Cody Markwardt, Lorelei and Jae Sheffield. Grandparents Joey and Tina Sheffield, Linda Moody, Glen Moody (Bea) and Victor and Gloria Desjardins. Aunts, Uncles and Cousins: Thera Sheffield, Brett, Kayci and Tye Robards, Bart Sheffield (Uncle Bok), Candice Byers (Richard) Brailyn and Billy. Aaron Moody (Cynthia) and Clark. Shane Desjardins (Stacy) Aiden and Calvin. Jacqueline Desjardins.

Funeral services will be held 10:00am, Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Brazoria First Assembly with Pastor Ernie Hutchings officiating. Burial will follow at Sweeny Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.

Finally, we would like to say THANK YOU to the First Responders and amazing hospital staff at Methodist Children's Hospital in San Antonio. The most selfless friends and family that nobody could ask for better. Whether it be through love, prayers and support at the hospital, monetary donations and bless their hearts cleaning our home and stocking our cupboards. And a special thank you to Pastor Ernie Hutchings and his wife Jocelyn for keeping us grounded in our faith.

Thank you all so so much and God Bless you.
