Rosmarie Meador, 82, of Angleton, Texas went to meet her Savior and Lord on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at her residence. She was born October 14, 1939, in Augsburg, Germany to the late Barbara (Behmer) and Ludwig Schmalz. Rosie was proud to be a US citizen and she received her naturalization April 18, 1961.
Rosie was the youngest of 3 children and lived in Germany, until the age of 18, when she met and married the loved of her life Alvin, who was stationed in the military. They moved to Angleton in 1969 where they raised their children.
Rosie was a member of Bastrop Baptist Church. She loved working in her yard with her flowers and plants and was known to have a very green thumb. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, traveling, the outdoors, and camping.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alvin Carroll Meador, one brother and one sister.
Rosie is survived by her son Harold Meador and wife Sherry; daughter Debra Gaines; four grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at C. T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home, in West Columbia, with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor Ronnie Pena officiating. Interment will follow in Sweeny Cemetery.
Pallbearers for Rosmarie will be Blake Meador, Tim Meador, Joel Meador, Derrick Meador, Hogan Ashford, and Chad Norris.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warriors, St. Jude’s Children’s Research, and A Med Hospice.
