Ruby Page

June 6, 1960 — September 17, 2016

Ruby Ann Page, 56, died peacefully at home on September 17, 2016 surrounded by family and friends. Ruby was born on June 6, 1960 in Denver City, Texas to L.B. and Agnes Townsend. She grew up in Tatum, New Mexico and was the youngest of 13 siblings. At the age of 13 Ruby met the love of her life, Scott Page. Scott and Ruby were married on December 31, 1979 and lived in Artesia and Loco Hills, New Mexico. They welcomed their first child, daughter Samantha, in 1981. Then in 1986, they welcomed son Kelby, completing their family and relocated to the Lake Jackson area in 1989. Ruby worked in food administration at Sweeny ISD for 18 years where she loved being around children.

Ruby's life was filled with love, laughter and music. Her favorite past time was sitting listening, to her high school sweetheart, Scott playing guitar and attending various concerts. Road trips and vacationing were a highlight of their 37 year marriage. Ruby enjoyed traveling not only for the photographic scenery, but the food. A self-proclaimed foodie, she loved trying new foods and recipes. Ruby also enjoyed photographing her family and friends and could often be found behind the camera instead of in the photos. She was also an avid reader, with many books in her personal library. In more recent years, her DD (Diva Dog) maltese puppy was her loyal companion and accompanied Ruby wherever she went.

Ruby is survived by her husband, Scott Page of Sweeny; two children, daughter Samantha Page of Sweeny and son Kelby Page and wife Susan of Brazoria; one sister, Janet Dallas of Cleveland, Tx; her in-laws, BJ and Vivian Simpson of Tatum, NM; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, L.B. and Agnes Townsend, and sister Jackie Townsend.

A memorial service honoring Ruby will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, 4:00pm. Visitation with family will be from 3pm until service time at Baker Funeral Home located at 634 S. Columbia Drive; West Columbia, Texas 77486. Service will be officiated by Pastor Thomas Lester.

Scott, Samantha, Kelby, and Susan would like to thank all of the staff at IPH Hospice Care for their compassionate care during this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in honor of Ruby Ann Page to IPH Home Health Care & Hospice Care, 190 Abner Jackson Pkwy, Suite 210; Lake Jackson, Texas 77566.
