Ryan Craig DeLeon, age 31, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 28, 2021.
Ryan was born on September 21, 1989 in Lake Jackson, Texas to Amos and Bertha DeLeon. He graduated from Sweeny High School in 2008. A week after graduation he left for the U.S. Marine Corps and served four years of duty. He received an Associates of Arts in General Studies at Alvin Community College in 2020 where he received Phi Theta Kappa Award of Excellence. He was certified as an EMT and volunteer firefighter.
Ryan is survived by his wife, Brittany DeLeon; son, Liam DeLeon; father, Amos DeLeon, and brother, Gary DeLeon. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Bertha DeLeon; grandmothers, Lelia Gutierrez and Elvira DeLeon and grandfathers, Leon Gutierrez and Steven DeLeon Sr.
Ryan was a devoted father and husband who enjoyed playing games, and it didn’t matter whether it was a board game or a video game. He especially found pleasure in claiming victory when playing Jenga with his wife. Ryan enjoyed going fishing, attending Astros games, reading, and hitting the gym. He was a loving brother and son who was known for his enormous heart and his listening ear. Ryan’s laugh was contagious, and he loved making others laugh. He was a courageous and kind-hearted man. He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.
A visitation with friends and family will be on Monday, August 9, 2021, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home, in West Columbia, Texas with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home, in West Columbia, Texas. Interment with military honors will follow in Sweeny Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Cortinas, Trey Cortinas, Eddie Treviño, Trent Treviño, Zack Hinna and Logan Curb. Honorary pallbearers will be Frankie Balderas, Jonathan Salazar, Clint Marchand and Roy Gamboa.
