Sheila Sue James known to many as “Lollie” passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021. Sheila was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She was born to Julian “Skinny” and Irene Wave Danford on January 21, 1946 in West Columbia. Sheila spent her entire life in West Columbia and Brazoria where she was a much-loved neighbor.
Lollie was most at home in the presence of her family. She is survived by the love of her life husband Bill James, her sons Phillip, Cody, Brenten and wife Jill and Trey Lee; grandchildren Bailee and husband Jeff, Gunner, Garrett, Laney Grace, Mailia, Brady Jack, Ashley and husband Chris, Eric and wife Amber, Camryn, Dustin and wife Bianca. Twelve precious great grandchildren, her sister Mary Beth Sims and husband Lance as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many who called her family.
Sheila embraced her loved ones with care, no husband could have asked for a more devoted or supportive wife. She had a way of making everyone feel special whether it was with the gift of a beautiful quilt or one of her famous birthday cakes. A talented seamstress, cook, baker, and decorator she will always be remembered for her amazing creativity and giving heart. Walking into Lollie and Daddy Bill’s house, one was always met with the smell of fresh baked bread, a hug and a smile.
Sheila is preceded in death by her parents Skinny and Wave along with brothers Bill and Julian (Cooter) as well as her beloved Margie May.
A celebration of Sheila’s life will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 13, 2021, First Baptist Church Brazoria, 101 San Bernard St., Brazoria, Texas 77422.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to First United Methodist Church of Brazoria.
