Shirley Brant

Shirley Jeanene (Brown) Brant, age 83, of Brazoria passed away March 16, 2022, at her home.  Shirley was born March 5, 1939, to Garlin Brown & Lillian McCarthy in St. Louis, Missouri.  She was married to Frank Clifford Brant Jr. and was the mother to Barry Brant & Anita Fleming.

Shirley married the love of her life, Frank, on December 7, 1962.  Together they owned a house painting business and operated it for 35 years. They then opened and operated Brant’s Bait, Bar and Grill where they shrimped, sold bait, and made many friends at River’s End.  After nearly 30 years Frank and Shirley retired at River’s End.  After Frank’s passing in 2007 Shirley moved to Brazoria where she enjoyed sewing, gardening, and being Grandma & Great Grandma full time.

Shirley is survived by her sisters Sherry & Terry McCarthy of Brazoria, her son Barry and wife Vicky Brant, grandson Jarrett & Heather Brant (Cerenity, JD, Joe), grandson Heath Brant (Emma, Brianna, Jameson), and grandson Aaron & Taylor Brant, daughter Anita Fleming, grandson Todd & Krista Friemel (Hailey, Kiah), grandson Chad & Leslie Friemel (Octavia, Zoe), granddaughter Tabbatha Lowery (Cameron, Kaden) and great grandsons Landon & Chase Crunk, daughter in law Georgia Brant, grandson Clayton & Julie Brant (Carter), granddaughters Karah Brant and Jillian Brant, grandson Ryan & Kayla Meaux (Leah), and granddaughter Gwen Meaux.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Frank Brant Jr, son Clifford Brant, and granddaughter Ashley Coburn.

Pallbearers are Jarett Brant, Todd Friemel, Chad Friemel, Heath Brant, Clayton Brant, and Aaron Brant. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Galloway, Ryan Meaux, Jesse Brown, and Johnny Howdeshell.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022, at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home, 118 W. Texas, Brazoria, TX with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Brazoria Cemetery.
