Shirley Hodges

Caye Hodges was born October 3, 1954 in Houston, Texas to Paul and Marie Cherry. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 33 years, Marvin Hodges, her daughter Kimberly Hodges and her brother Michael Cherry. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kim Cherry.

Caye passed away working on her beloved home on the San Bernard river. The only thing she loved more was floating in the river on a hot summer day.

Caye loved her family, friends and animals. She was active in the SPCA fostering program and was an enthusiastic supporter of Marvin's racing hobby and Kim's softball career. She was always there rain or shine. Caye lived a full life devoting herself to her family and her professional career, excelling at both.

She was proud to be the first in her family to earn a college degree when she received her Master's in Education from the University of Houston. After a brief teaching career, she went back to school for her Engineering degree and began a 36-year career in the oil and gas industry at J. Ray McDermott and BP. She retired from BP January 5, 2017.

Caye did not like being the center of attention she therefore requested no memorial service. She asked only that those she touched during her lifetime remember her in their own way.
