Shirley Jane Howard

Shirley was born to Jim and Jane Howard, July 22, 1953 in Corpus Christi, Texas and went to be with her Lord, Jan. 1, 2016.
Shirley had many friends. She started to school in Corpus Christi and finished school at Columbia-Brazoria. She worked at Lake Jackson MHMR, Schulenburg MHMR, and the City Hall of Flatonia .
She made her profession of faith in Jesus Christ at Zephyr Encampment and was baptized at Premont Baptist Church by her father. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sweeny and loved to go there and also loved to attend Grace Baptist Church in Wild Peach with her parents.
She leaves behind her mother & father, Jane & Jim Howard of Sweeny; brothers, Michael James Howard & wife, Lindy of Leakey and Mark Alan Howard of Richardson; nephew, Jesse & wife, Renee' and their children, Eliana and Josiah; niece, Tabitha & husband, Keith, and their children, Kaden and Isaiah; uncle, Gary I. Wells & wife, Beverly; cousins, Vange Wells Anderson & husband, Brian and Gary G. Wells & wife, Karolyn.
Shirley never met a stranger. She always introduced herself to people and hugged everyone after her introduction. She recognized people she met and said "I know you."
Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church in Sweeny on Tues. Jan 5, 2016 at 2:00 pm with Michael Howard officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 pm until service time at the church. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Haven of Rest in West Columbia. Serving as honorary pallbearers are the deacons of First Baptist Church in Sweeny and Grace Baptist Church in Wild Peach.
