Thomas Edward Badders, Sr. (Tommy), 88, of Brazoria passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born to the late John Edward Badders and Myrtle Marie Tupper-Badders in Silsbee, Texas on June 11, 1933.
Tommy graduated from Brazosport High School in 1951 and eventually hired on at Dow Chemical Company working as an operator and then a foreman until his retirement. Tommy was very active in the community. He served as an elder in the Presbyterian Church, was a Councilman and Mayor for the city of Brazoria. He was a member of the Brazoria Fire Department, a scoutmaster for a troop of Boy Scouts and the coach of a little league baseball team. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and anything to do with the outdoors.
Tommy was a loving man who always made others laugh. God blessed him to be married for over 68 years to Ruby Estelle Goolsby Badders (Peggy). Their marriage was blessed with three daughters and one son. Together they loved traveling, especially with their grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Badders; his mother, Myrtle Badders and sons-in-law Alex Morgan and Bill Clinton.
Tommy leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Peggy Badders; his children Peggy Sue Morgan, Rhonda & Tim Smith, Eddie & Jamie Badders & Dena Clinton, sisters Sylvia Runnels & Eleanor Chambers, 11 Grandkids, 22 Great-Grandkids, 2 Great-Great-Grandkids as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy’s grandsons.
A visitation with friends and loved ones will be Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am in the Chapel of C.T. Baker& Sons Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 11:00 am
Burial will be in Brazoria Cemetery.
