Timothy Clinch

December 7, 1954 — January 14, 2016

Timothy James Clinch went to be with our Lord on Thursday, January 14, 2016, after a brave and determined battle with pancreatic cancer. Tim was born in Abilene, Texas, on the anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day, December 7, 1954, to Gerald and Patricia Clinch.

Tim spent his childhood in Abilene, and his family moved to Friendswood in the early 1970's. He graduated from Friendswood High School in 1973. Tim continued his education at Southwest Texas State University, where he met many of his lifelong friends. After college, he worked in construction management for several years before founding Construction Concepts of Texas in 1993. In 2013, Tim accepted his dream job at Oil States Energy Services, where he served as Corporate Construction Manager until his death.

Tim met the love of his life, Kimberly Danford, in 1993. After a whirlwind romance, they married on July 16, 1994. Their two children, Sam and Caroline, were the center of his universe. He coached numerous baseball, softball, soccer, and basketball teams. Tim was a fixture in the stands at Columbia High School sporting events, and the teams could always count on him to bring the spirit. He was a faithful Roughneck fan, and his voice was always heard above the roar of the crowd.

Tim served his community well in many leadership positions. He was on the board of West Columbia Little League, and he was a trustee of Columbia United Methodist Church. He impacted the lives of countless individuals, but especially the children and youth of West Columbia.

Tim is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Patricia Clinch. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Kimberly, and his children, Sam and Caroline, of West Columbia; his brother Tommy Clinch and wife Karen of Abilene; his brother Pat Clinch and wife Rebecca of Midland; his sister Therese Clinch of Cedar Park; and his nieces and nephews, April Glenn and husband Scott, T.J. Clinch, Sarah Moffitt and husband Austin, and Elizabeth Clinch.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016, at 2:00 at Columbia United Methodist Church, followed immediately by a reception in the Fellowship Hall. Pallbearers are Terry Casey, T.J. Clinch, John Dixson, Rob Dixson, Gary Mercer, Gene Pell, Earl Saville, and Allan Taylor. Honorary pallbearers are Ken Bedsole, Darren Boone, Scott Glenn, Jake Graber, Wes Griggs, Jack Hays, Jackie Hays, Billy Jenn, Austin Moffitt, Rick Salter, and the CUMC Men's Sunday School Class.

Tim's family would like to thank his many prayer warriors, especially Evelyn Welch, whose fervent outreach provided Tim and his family with great comfort. The family also is grateful for the excellent care that Tim received from Dr. Robert Wolff, Kelli Carr Nugent, and the rest of his staff at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Memorial donations may be made to Columbia United Methodist Church, 315 South 16th Street, West Columbia, TX, 77486.
