Viola Klinkovsky

August 22, 1922 — January 23, 2017

Viola Lillie Vojtek Klinkovsky was born August 22, 1922, in Needville, Texas, and died peacefully-with her children by her side-on January 23, 2017. Her grandchildren, great grandchildren and nearly everyone she loved called her Granny. Of her many achievements and endeavors, she was most proud of being a loving farm wife, mother and Granny who raised a close-knit, almost-always growing family.

A member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Granny lived with tremendous faith, constantly exhibiting love, kindness and grace to all she encountered. A proud member of the Czech Heritage Society, she instilled in her a family an appreciation for Oom Pah Pah music. A remarkable seamstress, she made dresses for her daughters, bassinettes for her grandchildren and great grandchildren's dolls, and sparkling Christmas stockings for everyone in the family-including beloved pets. And, speaking of pets, over the years Granny provided a loving home for her beloved dachshunds Toby Toy, Tiny Tina, Coco and Chanel.

Viola Klinkovsky is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Howard, and husband, Benny: daughter, Anna Neff, and husband, Mike; her son, Joe A. Klinkovsky III, and wife, Susan; daughter, Barbara Bennett, and husband, Tom; her grandchildren, Amy Klinkovsky; Michelle Heintschel and husband, Bruce; Joe A. Klinkovsky IV; Kelly Lackey, and husband, Mark; Spencer Bennett and wife, Robin; Amber Bennett; Lindsey Savant and husband, Bradley; and Abby Marek; and 14 great grandchildren: Colton, Drew, and Ethan Lackey; Tyler, Brett and Haley Heintschel; Lainey, Cal and Case Marek; Wyatt, Debra, and Claire Bennett; Will and Benjamin Savant; special sister-in-law, Arlene Vojtek; along with many nieces and nephews too numerous to list.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe A. Klinkovsky Jr.; her daughter and son-in-law, Georgia and Perry Marek; her grandson, Chad Marek; her brother, Frank Vojtek; and her sisters, Edith Lambeth and Willie Mae Kuban.

The family would like to give special thanks to Rita Sauceda for her many years of loving care and also to the staff at Cypress Woods Care Center for their loving care of Granny K.
