Virgie Mae Breaux, 79 of West Columbia, Texas passed away at her home on Monday, November 9, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 27, 1936 in Crowley, LA to Adam and Ida Mae (Richard) Istre. She was a retired bank teller for Wells Fargo, a member of St. John's the Apostle Catholic Church in West Columbia; member of the Ladies Alter Guild and the Legion of Mary and was also a Eucharistic Minister.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 10:30am at St. John's Catholic Church in West Columbia with Father John Taosan officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Haven of Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00pm until 8:00pm with a rosary being recited at 7:00pm at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia. Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby, Jerald, Bubba, Steven and Jeremy Breaux along with Ricky Bell. Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Breaux, William Hood and Joe Carder.
Virgie is survived by sons, Steve Breaux and wife, Deidra of Alvin; Bobby Breaux of West Columbia and Jerald Breaux and wife, Mary of Lake Jackson; daughters, Betty Bell of West Columbia and Pam Johansen and husband, Dave of Keizer, OR; brother, Ernest Istre and wife, Guanda of Crowley, LA; and sister, Lou Crutcher of West Columbia. She also had 13 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Homer Breaux and her parents Adam and Ida Mae Istre along with grandchildren, Kathy and Karen Bell along with Shelby and Lacie Breaux.
