Wilma Lee Ogilvie of West Columbia, Texas passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the age of 92. She was born June 25, 1925 in Bellaire, Texas to James Roland and Nannie Della (Farmer) Slaughter. She attended Rice University where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1945. She was a mother and housewife for 20 years before she went on the teach math at Columbia High School before retiring. She was a member of Columbia United Methodist Church, the First Capital Historical Foundation, and a Varner Hogg Volunteer.
Funeral services will be held 10:00am, Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Columbia United Methodist Church in West Columbia with Pastor Paul Kethley officiating. Burial will follow at Columbia Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening, July 14, 2017 at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Navasard, Douglas Guthier, Paul Navasard, Daniel Ogilvie, Robert Kingrea and Anthony Kingrea.
Wilma is survived by her husband of 72 years Charles Reese Ogilvie, Jr, children Candace Guthier and husband Steven, Nancy Navasard and husband Gipsy; Jim Ogilvie and wife Jennifer and Tom Ogilvie and wife Beverly; grandchildren, Douglas Guthier, Erin Guthier Littleton, Jason Navasard, Jill Navasard Haro, Paul Navasard, Daniel Ogilvie and Mollie Ogilvie; sister, Nancy Kingrea and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandson Steven Ogilvie, brother Robert Harris Slaughter and her parents.
