Beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. Yvonne peacefully went to be with her Jesus on Thursday, April 7, 2022. She was born in Baytown on May 16, 1927, to Cloie Estell and Eugene Quincy Adams. She is the last living sibling of five to join the others in heaven.
Her husband, Reuben, was her great love, and they celebrated 63 years of marriage before he died in in 2009. They raised their three children Paula, Larry, and Randy on the home place near West Columbia.
As a homemaker, Yvonne was a devoted mother and saw this role as her calling in life. She loved to cook, bake, can and preserve the produce from Reuben’s garden.
She is survived by her children Paula Nordt and husband, Gene, and son Randy Powell and wife, Gail. A wonderful blessing were the six grandchildren: Stephanie Haley, Stephen Gray, Taylor Powell, Ryan Nordt, Lindsay Campbell, and Jennifer Williams. These six brought her such joy and precious memories. The fourteen great grandchildren also filled her heart with an abundance of pride. Recently two great great grand boys made their entrance into the world. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins also loved her.
Preceding Yvonne in death were her husband, Reuben, and son Larry as well as her parents and her four siblings: Joyce Smith, Margie DeBrock, Pat Allen, and John Adams.
The life of this Christian lady touched so many lives during her 94 plus years that we can only rejoice and say how blessed we are and thank the Lord for her constant love, influences, and dedication.
