Zachary Raasch

Zack Raasch, 64, of West Columbia passed away October 22, 2017. He was born October 22, 1953 in Freeport, Texas to Madelyn and Glenn Raasch.

Zack married Jean Ann Kresta January 10, 1976. They shared 41 years of marriage raising their five children together. He loved driving back country roads, having long conversations with whomever would lend their ear, and sharing a cold one on the porch. Zack also enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and polka dancing. Family was very important to him and his greatest enjoyment was sharing these experiences with them. He had many jobs throughout his life including being a machinist working for Phillips 66, M&T Machine Shop, and the Fab Shop. It was his outgoing nature that led him to his most recent job as a sales representative at The Brevard Company.

Left to cherish Zack's memory is his wife, Jean Ann Raasch; children, daughter, Kyndra Brown and husband Boston of Sweeny; son, Wade Raasch and wife Jenn of Brazoria; daughter, LeAnn Brown and husband Josh of New Braunfels; daughter, Kristen Schmidt and husband Wesley of Sweeny; daughter, Rene Raasch of Sweeny; nine grandchildren, Guy Raasch, Sloan Novak, Stevie Brown, Jesse Raasch, Shane Brown, Judd Brown, Tex Raasch, Bexar Brown and Gretta Schmidt.

He is also survived by siblings, Mickey Raasch and wife Liz of Corpus Christi, Wayne Raasch of Lissie, and Elizabeth Pryor of Katy; brother-in-laws, Paul Kresta and wife Peggy of West Columbia; Greg Kresta of Brazoria; and sister-in-law Janet DuBose and husband Wayne of New Braunfels. He is preceded in death by his parents and twin brother, William Rex Raasch.

Zack will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral Services will be held at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia on Friday, October 27th at 10am. Burial will follow at Brazoria Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6pm-8pm on Thursday, October 26th also at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are Troy Allen, Dwayne Beal, Tommy Evans, Zack Fink, Chad Jones, Tim Pike, Chip Pugh and Ashley Reed.
